January 31st 2011 Bravi Lite Why push when you can DRIVE...

Why we built it:

The Bravi Leonardo is well established as the self-propelled, low-level access platform of choice for major M&E contractors. However, a large number of contractors do not use the full 4.9m working height that the Leonardo has to offer and have been looking at equipment to work between heights of 3 and 4 metres. Some of these contractors are using equipment which does not drive at height; push-around platforms, alloy towers, and podiums steps. This equipment however, may not always be the most suited to the application in terms of productivity and, in some circumstances, safety.

Bravi Lite

The Lite fits neatly between the podium or tower and the Leonardo or small scissor. It provides all the benefits of self-propelled access, with the added bonus of improved rental returns and rentability due to its highly competitive pricing.

Brief Specification:

An ultra-lightweight, compact, self-propelled powered access platform:

  • Working height – 4.21 mtrs
  • Height Stowed – 1.52 mtrs
  • Length Stowed- 1.172 mtrs
  • Width- 760 mm
  • Weight 398 Kilos
Bravi Lite

This allows access into buildings via single doorways; the machine will fit into a standard passenger lift, allowing it to be transferred between floors (it can access any area that is wheelchair accessible).

Because of its compact dimensions and super-low overall weight the machine can work in buildings with low floor loadings and fine surface finishings without damaging the fabric of the building. Its smooth and precise drive, combined with its small closed dimensions, provide superior manoeuvrability.

The Market it serves:

The Bravi Lite is a direct alternative in the low-level access market (defined as up to 5m working height); a market which is currently dominated by stepladders, podiums and small lightweight alloy towers. It is estimated that 1,900,000 podiums, steps and small lightweight towers are being used daily in the UK – a clear demonstration of the still untapped potential of this market.

The Lite, because of its unique features, can be used in a wide range of environments including; offices, shops, public buildings, and anywhere where non-powered access is currently being used. The Lite is a truly versatile machine which can be used for inspection, cleaning and maintenance tasks; removing the need for stepladders, it provides a very safe working platform for the operator. The Lite is ideally placed to help spread the use of MEWPs beyond the traditional construction sector, moving into growth sectors such as retail.

Drivers:

Health & Safety, and Productivity. There has been an increasing focus on improving safety when working at height with the introduction of the Working @ Height Regulations 2005. In many cases companies are reviewing their working at height procedures and where possible eliminating the use of steps and podium devices. Concurrently, companies are looking to make efficiency savings wherever possible, the Lite serves both of these needs, by providing safe access, which has significant productivity benefits, when compared with manual access methods.

Bravi Lite

Route to market

Many end users are buying or leasing the equipment direct from Bravi UK. However a large market exists for spot rental of the product. This is facilitated by access rental and tool hire companies who are looking to diversify their customer bases for continued expansion.

Rental returns for the Lite are expected to be better than average with payback projected to be within 18 months and machine life cycle expected to be 7-10 years.

The Bravi Lite will be officially launched at CONEXPO – March 21st-26th, Bravi Platforms – Booth 428 Golden Lot, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Lite will be available in the UK from February 2011.
