Guidance for Aerial Working

At Bravi UK we are committed to providing products and services that are fully compliant in all aspects i.e. certification, regulation and or recommendation. For anyone less experienced in the requirements or "do's and don'ts" of working at height please take a moment to familiarise yourself with some of the facts. But also to get comfort from the fact that if carried out correctly, working safely at height with Powered Access can considerably reduce the risk of accident or incident.

Falls from height continue to be the main cause of workplace fatality and one of the main causes of major injury.

  • Of the 3,409 serious injuries from falls from height in 2006/07, around a third resulted from a fall from a ladder.
  • More than half of serious fall injuries, such as fractured skulls, broken bones and severe cuts, are caused by falling from below head height.
  • In 2005/06 falls from height accounted for 46 fatal accidents at work and around 3350 major injuries.

To avoid a fall just follow these simple tips:

  • Plan ahead
  • Don't overreach
  • Use the right equipment
  • Don't rush

The Work at Height Regulations 2005, as amended by the Work at Height (Amendment) Regulations 2007 is written for employers, the self-employed and anyone who works at height. It tells you what you need to do to comply and apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury.
