Stuart, Andrew F & P - The history

We have worked together for many years, with our working relationship starting back in 1993 when Andrew P and I were working for the UK Upright Distributor (Instant Zip up) I was the seller, Andrew P the fixer and Stuart was on the engineering team for Independent Access, a Norwich based access and scaffold Rental Company. Stuart as ever was a difficult man to sell to as his attention to and passion for detail meant I had to prepare for him and everything had to be correct!

Following many years of working together on various projects our supplier and customer relationship developed, I guess we understood each other's strengths and weaknesses. It was therefore great news when we finally managed to get on the same side so to speak. When back in 1997 I had moved to JLG industries and we purchased what was then JLG Premier, a dealership for JLG products. Stuart and Andrew P both worked at Premier so we then started working together to set up and build JLG UK.

During the next 8 years or so we worked closely together and built the business taking it from then $3M t/o to a peak at $50m. Stuart was instrumental in setting the high standards for Engineer and Customer Support that still remain today. We experienced the highs and lows of working within the corporate environment and we often travelled together extensively within Europe and the USA. When the opportunity arose we decided that we needed to do something for ourselves, so In Oct 05 we joined a small Management Team and Board of Directors and successfully completed an £11.6m MBI of Independent Access Supplies, a substantial AWP hire business ranked no 6 within the UK market.

We successfully completed a business turnaround from £1.5 loss (Oct 04) to £3.2k EBIT (Nov 07.) We sold the business in June 07, having paid down £3m debt and £1m interest to the Bank. Stuart, Andrew and I have honed our skills over the years and developed our working relationship which would be very hard to replicate. Bravi UK is our latest venture , its right back in an area that we understand well and can shine. We start with a very strong team in Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Technical and Finance, and look forward to the next chapter in our relationship - Andrew F
